What is the National Game Insurance Scheme (NGIS)?
In 2011 The FA set out to raise the standards of insurance and provide a uniformity of cover across the grassroots game that hadn’t been seen before.
In developing the required solutions, they carried out a rigorous tender process involving brokers in the sport insurance market. In July 2012 Marsh Sport (formerly trading as Bluefin Sport) were successfully appointed by The FA as the broker to deliver, what is now known as, the National Game Insurance Scheme (NGIS).
The overarching objective for the NGIS has been to ensure that competitive and robust insurance products, specifically tailored to the needs of grassroots football, were made available to all.
Since the launch, the NGIS has successfully achieved these milestones, with thanks to a number of County FAs choosing to support the scheme. The numbers speak for themselves.
